I don't even know what I'm writing about!! Damn this paper to a fiery burning hell! C'mon, 16.67% of my total grade isn't a lot, is it? I could just forget about this paper and still make a decent grade, right? Does the world really need to know the ways that West African music inspired current black gospel music? I think not.
This is obviously a sign that school needs to be over NOW.
[EDIT]
thehoyden, forgive me for not getting back to you about that beta reading. I will as soon as this report is done on Tuesday.

Date: 2008-04-14 01:38 am (UTC)It also might help to set some reward for yourself--e.g., "If I finish this paper, I'll..." For example: (1) Buy myself ____, (2) eat ____, or (3) bury myself in porny doujinshi for the rest of the evening. :P
Good luck!

Date: 2008-04-14 02:00 am (UTC)After this paper on Tuesday, I'm gonna scan up a bunch of porny doujinshi and send it to the four winds for translation. But actually, I really want to clean my room. I can see dust bunnies and I'm more disgusted by this than I'm letting on. Oh, but Wednesday is fried chicken day. That's a nice payback...

Date: 2008-04-14 01:57 am (UTC)I guess I'm frustrated by my lack of definitive resources. What religious tradition in West Africa should I link gospel music to? What styles are the same? I mean, I know, but how do I write that academically?
And I don't think you want to read this thing, as it will be crap.By the way, what part of southern Louisiana? My family's from Baton Rouge and that area. If I knew what we were, I'd tell ya, but well, we don't have good family records or anything. ^^;;

Date: 2008-04-14 02:45 am (UTC)I'd go by my grandmother's word, but Big Mama had Alzheimer's since I was just a little thing, so no askin' her (that and she passed near three years back). I found out I'm part Irish on my maternal grandmother's side around Christmas, which was a shocker to me. Americans really are the mutts of the world, aren't we? I was raised black, taught Native American pride, and understood I was partly white. I can't even be mad about it. XD
But I related to Louisiana as home, even though I was born and raised in Georgia. I wanna go back and have some good food again. Big Mama couldn't remember our names, but that never stopped her from cooking! I'd love for some of my relatives to cook for me again. And BR does smell...you've got a better picture of it than I do. I think it just smells like sewage. >__>
